Underground Rainwater Tanks

Rainwater tanks can be used for various rainwater harvesting functions. Mainly, a rainwater tank is installed to collect and use rainwater for the house (toilet flushing), the garden (plant watering) or for initial retention during heavy rainfall, which protects our investment from flooding. The use of rainwater in rainwater tanks not only has an ecological effect, but also brings real savings for the user's wallet. It has been calculated that, with good rainwater management, it is possible to save up to 50% of tap water costs.

All rainwater tanks are subject to subsidies under the "MOJA WODA" programme as well as other local programmes "Złap deszczówkę", "Mój Deszcz" etc.

The tanks in our offer manufactured using the rotomoulding method (monolithic construction of the tank), which makes the tanks highly resistant and ensures 100% tightness (no seams, welding, twisting of modules). Selected tanks can even be installed in areas of vehicular traffic and even trucks. The product range includes flat rainwater tanks that can be sited in heavy soil and high groundwater.

We offer tanks from renowned and proven manufacturers from Poland and abroad, which provides our customers with a wide choice at attractive prices. We invite you to contact our consultants. We provide you with professional advice on tank selection, installation and rainwater utilisation.

Selecting a rainwater storage tank

The capacity of the rainwater tank should be selected by: calculating the catchment area, adjusting the appropriate flow coefficient and taking into account the amount of rainfall in the area. This is a method to determine the possible rainwater yield, which can be useful for selecting a tank for rainwater management purposes. We welcome you to use our capacity selection calculator.

Selecting an underground tank model for rainwater management is also not straightforward, as several important parameters must be taken into account. Knowing the ground conditions (sandy, clayey, other soils) allows you to match the right type of rainwater storage tank in terms of soil pressure resistance and depth of cover. Knowing the ground water level will allow us to avoid the situation of a buried tank being pushed out in the event of high ground water levels, in which case flat tanks are recommended. It is also useful to have information on the geological parameters of the ground when designing an emergency overflow if we are in a situation where the water stored in the tank will not be used and will continue to collect during rains.

FAQ

How do I choose a rainwater tank?

The selection of a rainwater tank depends on the catchment area, watering requirements or the possibility of underground or above-ground installation. Take a look at our capacity selection calculator. We also invite you to contact our customer service.
1

Rainwater tank permit or notification?

The law is not clear-cut. According to the latest regulations, the construction of a rainwater tank with a capacity of up to 10 m3 only requires a notification. Additionally, if the tank is built during the construction of a house, it does not require a permit. Otherwise, it is necessary to contact the district office and obtain the necessary information.
0

Do tanks need to be protected with sand and cement?

This depends on the individual conditions of the plot of ground. If the tank is installed in permeable ground, a sand/cement fill is not necessary. It is necessary if the groundwater conditions are unfavourable. The purpose of the backfilling is to ensure good settlement, making the tank stable and safe. Each tank has its own properties as specified in the installation instructions. We also welcome you to contact our customer service.
1

What is the maximum depth at which the tank can be installed?

This is dependent on the particular tank model, which has specific dimensions. The depth of the placed can be increased by using suitable superstructures. You are also welcome to contact our customer service.
1

Can tanks be installed in ground water?

In most cases, tanks cannot be installed in groundwater. For this purpose, special flat tanks are dedicated, which are designed for difficult groundwater conditions, e.g. F-line, Octagon, Neo. They allow a shallow foundation due to their low profile.
1

Can the tanks be installed in drivable ground?

In most cases this cannot be done. There are specially designed heavy-duty tanks for this purpose, to which a vehicle traffic kit consisting of an ascending pipe and a steel plate is attached. Examples of such a tank are: F-line, Blueline, Octagon, Neo.
1

Can garden systems be combined with an automatic irrigation system?

Yes, of course it is possible. For this purpose, pumps with specific parameters are selected to meet the requirements of the installation. In order to select a pump for your individual use, please refer to the guide and contact our customer service.
0

Do you need to remove the pump from the tank for the winter?

This is not necessary as the tanks are installed underground - below the frost line. Below the ground surface, at the depth of the tank foundation, the water should not freeze.
