For many years, Gdynia has been encouraging people to retention rainwater. Every year, the city allocates part of the funds in the budget to subsidize small retention.

Gdynia allows for obtaining 80% of eligible costs, but the total value of the grant will not exceed PLN 10 000. As part of the subsidy, it is possible to obtain reimbursement of costs for:

- preparation of the development project, collection and use of rainwater,
- purchase with installation of devices (flower pots, drain pipes, overflow pipes, drainage pipes, elements of an absorbent well),
- carrying out earthworks.
