MOJA WODA PROGRAM IN 2023 - NEW INFORMATION

Moja Woda Program in 2023 - new information

We reported in 2022 that the nationwide Moja Woda (My Water) priority program was in question. According to the rules of the program to subsidize the construction of rainwater retention systems, it should operate until 2024 on a continuous basis. Despite this, the call for applications was stopped. They considered only those that had already been received. What will it be like in 2023? Will it be possible to get a grant?

For news about the 2023 My Water programme, please see the rest of the article below.

The Moja Woda program enjoys great interest every year. In 2021, an amount as high as PLN 100,000,000 was allocated. An individual could get a subsidy of up to 80% of eligible costs, that is, up to PLN 5,000 for an investment with a minimum amount of PLN 2,000 and a minimum total size of tanks - 2 m3. Housing cooperatives could receive a sum of up to PLN 10,000. The subsidy is subject to the purchase, supply, installation, construction and start-up of the installation:

1. For collecting rainwater from roofs, sidewalks, driveways (e.g., rainwater collectors, inlets, linear drainage, rainwater pipes without gutters),

Zbieracz deszczówki
2. For water retention in rainwater tanks (e.g., underground tanks, above-ground tanks, "ponds"),

3. For retention of rainwater in the ground (e.g. absorption wells, drainage, rain gardens - no planting costs);

4. For retention of rainwater on roofs - green roofs, without the cost of plantings;

5. For rainwater utilization (e.g., pumps, filters, pipes, sprinklers, controllers, rainwater control panels, other installations that enable rainwater management).

The program makes it possible to build rainwater management systems for residents in any location of the country. It has had a real impact on increasing the environmental awareness of citizens, which has resulted in the popularization of small-scale retention. "My Water" is supposed to reduce the negative effects of drought. This is related to the fact that Poland has a very poor drainage system. The ever-increasing concreting of cities is not conducive to this. Increasing the retention area not only reduces the cost of water use and sewage disposal, but also makes it possible to reduce the rain tax. So it's hardly surprising that the program's halt has been met with a wave of criticism.

Rainwater can be used for watering the garden and for gardening. In addition, rainwater is also suitable for washing clothes in a washing machine or washing a car. It is characterized by high softness (low pH), which is beneficial for equipment, installation, etc.

NFOŚiGW's view on the next edition of the My Water program in 2023

According to a spokesman for the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), work is still underway on the next edition of the program. The budget and shape of the program have not yet been defined. It is also unclear whether it will be possible to resume recruitment before the next season. A spokesman for the National Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund neither denies nor confirms that the next edition will be held as early as 2023. It is possible that this is probable. We encourage you to keep up to the information. We will do our best to inform all interested persons about the next arrangements. We invite you to keep an eye on our website, as well as the store!

1. Moja Woda Update March 7, 2023

We have very good news. The NFOŚiGW officially confirms that the new call for applications will definitely start in 2023! Currently, work is still underway to implement the new edition of the My Water program. The exact date of the new call for applications has not yet been made public. However, it should be expected soon. We encourage you to follow the information on this subject. Before that, you can take advantage of local government grants, which are an alternative to My Water.

2. Moja Woda update of May 17, 2023

We would like to inform you that the call for applications under the My Water priority program will most likely resume in the fourth quarter of 2023. The information was provided by a spokeswoman for the National Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund. Details of the amount of subsidies are still unknown, as work is underway to determine them. However, we can assume that they will be the same amounts as those offered so far, i.e. up to PLN 5,000.

3. Moja Woda update of 31 July 2023 - a new edition will be launched in the coming days

The Ministry of Climate and Environment has announced that the nationwide grant programme for rainwater retention and collection - Moja Woda - will be relaunched in the coming days. According to Minister Anna Moskwa, all those interested can expect to start receiving applications soon.

We will try to keep you updated as soon as information becomes available. We invite you to follow this article, as more updates will be posted here.

Alternatives to the My Water program

Without a doubt, the My Water program subsidy is a huge help to the investment. Rainwater retention systems are recommended, and increasingly even required, depending on the investment site. They make it possible to significantly reduce the cost of water use. They also carry a number of environmental advantages.

What to do in case the next edition does not? We know the answer to this question. Local governments run individual subsidy programs for their inhabitants. We have prepared for all interested people a description of many local investments in Warszawa, Wrocław, Poznań, Gniezno, Toruń, Białystok, Kielce or Gdynia, among others. The terms and conditions of local programs to subsidize rainwater retention systems are often very favorable and can be a fully-fledged alternative to the Moja Woda program. We invite you to familiarize yourself with local grants, descriptions of which are available on our website.

If there is no information about a subsidy, please look for it on local government websites relevant to where you live. Our entries are for informational purposes only. We are not responsible for the provisions of entities that implement subsidy programs.
