Grey Water Systems

In this category, you will find high-quality grey water reuse sets. The installation allows it to be recycled in single-family houses. The outdoor and indoor sets we offer are based on grey water recycling. In addition, hybrid installations are also available. These also offer the possibility of rainwater recycling.

Grey waste water after washing, washing and bathing is grey water. The task of a grey water utilisation system is to purify the used water. The grey water treatment process can be divided into two stages. The first is biological treatment and the second is ultrafiltration. This takes place in a biological reactor. The recycled water is stored in a clean water tank or directed to a rainwater recovery tank. It can be used again, e.g. for flushing toilets, technical cleaning (car washing, washing paved areas), etc.

  • External grey water recycling systems - based on underground tanks,
  • Hybrid systems - a combination of grey water and rainwater systems.
Grey water recycling is very popular in western Europe and is becoming increasingly so in Poland. What is grey water?

The term grey water refers to dirty water, e.g. after washing hands, bathing, laundry, washing vegetables etc. It does not contain urine or faecal matter. Grey water is a recyclable resource.

Is grey water drinkable?

Grey water is not suitable for drinking. After filtration, the water still contains impurities, bacteria and residues from washing and laundry processes. As a result, it does not meet all drinking water standards. Grey water must be treated to make it drinkable.
1

What are the benefits of grey water?

In the household, more than 30 % of water is used for flushing the toilet, for laundry it is another 15 %. In total, more than 50 % (up to 80 %) of water is used for laundry, washing and other works. Grey water can successfully replace tap water in these cases. As a result, it significantly reduces consumption and wastewater collection costs, as some of the water is returned back into the circulation in the home. Grey water has economic as well as environmental benefits.
1

How does the grey water system work?

The grey water system mainly consists of the installation of waste pipes from sinks, baths, showers and washing machines, which are connected to a grey water tank. A purification process takes place in the tank using a system of advanced filters. The purified water is then directed to the clean water tank, from where it is distributed through a piping system to cisterns, washing machines, garden sprinklers, etc. A pumping system is responsible for water distribution, i.e. a control panel or driver with pumps that supply the sanitary facilities.
1

Does the grey water system have to have a separate installation?

The grey water system requires a separate installation to be designed (based on EN 12056-2) to prevent secondary contamination of the drinking water. Anti-contamination valves are also commonly used to prevent the medium from mixing. It is very important to plan the installation before the house is built. Otherwise, redesigning the installation will be very time- and cost-consuming and may not be cost-effective.
