Rainwater filters help to catch impurities that enter the tank with rainfall. In many situations, they are necessary to keep the system working well. They can also be used to retrofit existing tanks. How does a rainwater filter work?

A rainwater filter works by separating solid contaminants that run off with the water from the roof. A mesh or filter cartridge traps leaves, dust and small branches, and the treated water goes into a tank. This prevents siltation and the water retains better quality. Regular maintenance ensures that the filter works effectively.

How do I clean my rainwater filter?

Every filter requires periodic maintenance. This most often involves rinsing the mesh or basket under running water. In the case of flow-through filters, it is advisable to check and clean the cartridges depending on the intensity of rainfall and the amount of dirt. Regular cleaning prevents clogging and extends the life of the system.

Does the rainwater filter protect the pump and the installation?

Yes, rainwater filtration effectively protects pumps, valves and irrigation systems. Fine impurities that could cause damage or a decrease in the performance of the system are retained. Above all, the filters protect the pumps from seizure of the motors and the irrigation from clogging of the electro-valves, drip line, sprinkler nozzles. Thanks to the filter, the entire installation runs longer and more reliably.
