Infiltration of Rainwater Systems

Absorption wells, drainage boxes, drainage tunnels, absorption tunnels

They are used to distribute excess rainwater collected from paved areas to the ground. The solution is also used in the design of rainwater management systems for the home and garden as a protection against excessive accumulation of rainwater in the rainwater tank (emergency overflow). The system is to safely take over the overflowing rainwater and evenly lead it to the ground. An important aspect of systems distributing rainwater to the ground is its retention capacity and active surface of drainage. The systems are designed taking into account the permeability of the ground and the height of groundwater as well as the catchment area and if the capacity of the rainwater tank is planned. We invite you to contact our advisors who help in choosing the system.

Drainage boxes are universal in that they allow the construction of small and large retention and drainage tanks. The number of boxes used depends on the capacity of the tank. The selection takes into account the absorbency of the soil, the groundwater level and the amount of rainwater flowing from the catchment area.

Absorption tunnels can be used to create long drainage lines (strands). The advantage of infiltration tunnels is that they can be installed quite shallowly. The tunnel has a lot of free space (volume), which ensures that it does not become clogged. Tunnels are usually used for smaller catchment areas.

Absorption wells are used for point source rainwater distribution. A big advantage is their retention capacity. They will work well when the plot area is small. It is important to check that the ground at the site is permeable and that there is no high groundwater level.

A wide range of absorption wells and drainage tunnels with different capacities, easy installation and high quality await you in the Aquatechnika shop. The offered products will ensure proper distribution of rainwater and avoid problems resulting from excessive water accumulation on the property and waterlogging of the area. By using drainage tunnels, rainwater can be distributed in a safe and controlled way.

FAQ - questions and answers

How do groundwater infiltration systems work?

Drainage systems allow rainwater to soak into the ground through modules or wells. The water collected from the roof goes into the system and then gradually seeps into the soil. This relieves the pressure on the sewerage system and returns the water to its natural cycle. This is an ecological and safe solution that prevents local flooding.

What is the difference between absorption wells and infiltration boxes?

Absorption wells are vertical tanks that introduce water deep into the ground, ideal for smaller rainwater volumes and limited space. Drainage boxes are a modular horizontal solution that can be combined in any configuration, making them suitable for larger roofs and tanks. Both solutions work on the same infiltration principle, but differ in capacity and construction.
1

When is it worth using absorption tunnels?

Absorption tunnels are used for large roof areas and installations requiring the drainage of large volumes of rainwater. Their design provides a large storage capacity and the modular system allows the installation to be extended easily. They are particularly suitable for single-family dwellings and industrial buildings.

How do I choose an in-ground water drainage system?

The selection of a suitable infiltration system depends on several factors: the surface area of the roof (catchment area), the type and permeability of the soil and the amount of space on the plot. For small installations, absorption wells are often sufficient, for medium-sized roofs, infiltration boxes work well, and for large roofs, absorption tunnels. It is also worth consulting an expert to select a system with the right capacity and performance.

How do I select an absorption well, infiltration boxes and absorption tunnels?

The choice of a particular solution depends on the roof catchment area, soil type and water-soil conditions. Absorbent wells work well for small catchments and in soils with good permeability. Drainage boxes are more flexible - they can be combined in modules, allowing capacity to be adapted to medium and larger roofs. Absorption tunnels are chosen where really large volumes of water need to be drained in a short period of time. Aquatechnika offers expert advice and provides technical documentation to help you choose the optimum solution.

What are the advantages of rainwater infiltration systems?

The main benefits include:

  • reducing the risk of flooding and puddles,

  • relief of the sewage system,

  • ecological rainwater management,

  • possibility to adapt the system to each plot of land,

  • durability and ease of installation.

Thanks to these systems, rainwater ceases to be a problem and becomes a resource that supports the natural water cycle.
