Karpacz is catching rainwater again in 2024 . The programme aims to support residents in investing in rainwater and snowmelt collection systems. Thanks to this project, it is possible to increase water retention, which contributes to the protection of water resources and the improvement of the local microclimate.

The grant scheme is not only a financial benefit, but also a real contribution to environmental protection. Rainwater harvesting helps to relieve the pressure on sewers, reduce the risk of local flooding, and enables the collected water to be used for watering gardens or washing cars, which contributes to saving precious drinking water resources.

The call for applications for funding started on 17 April 2024 and will run until 31 October 2024, unless the allocated funds run out earlier. It is important that potential beneficiaries submit their applications as soon as possible, as the available budget may not be sufficient to cover all investments.

The grant is 80% of the eligible costs incurred, but no more than PLN 5,000 per property.

Residents of Karpacz, as well as natural persons who own properties within the city on which rainwater harvesting systems can be installed, may apply for the subsidy. The subsidy applies to natural persons and business entities, however, for entrepreneurs the aid is so-called de minimis aid, in accordance with European Union regulations. The initiative is mainly aimed at owners of single-family houses who wish to manage water on their properties in an environmentally friendly manner.

Applications should be submitted upon completion of the task and the form should be accompanied by documents such as invoices, photographic documentation and confirmation of the right to dispose of the property. Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis and the grant is awarded on the basis of an on-site visit confirming that the task has been carried out in accordance with the regulations.
