Ostrów catches the rain in 2024. - subsidy starts again

Ostrów residents can once again count on support from their city government. The Ostrów Łapie Deszcz programme has been in operation since 2020.Ostrów WielkopolskiMayor Beata Klimekcommented on the next edition of the rain catcher grant:

"We have already provided nearly PLN 600 thousand in support to Ostrów łapie deszcz (rain catchers). This year, we have secured PLN 100 thousand. The programme has been very popular since its inception. Residents want to collect and use rainwater. And we, as the local government, want to assist in these activities and set positive trends for saving drinking water. To date, more than half a thousand tanks have been set up in our city thanks to the programme."

The aim of the grant programme is to encourage residents to manage their rainwater efficiently. Rainwater retention reduces the risk of flooding as well as drought. In addition, it also reduces the use of drinking water.

The call for applications runs from 01.02.24 to 29.02.24. A resident who opts for an above-ground rainwater storage tank of up to 500 litres can obtain a 500 zł subsidy. For larger capacities, it is PLN 1,000. For an underground tank, a subsidy of PLN 2,000 can be claimed.

Beneficiaries:

  • Natural persons,
  • Legal persons,
  • Housing communities,
  • Entrepreneurs,
  • Units of the public finance sector: municipal or district legal persons.
Eligible costs for the "Ostrów Łapie Rain" programme

The grant is directed at covering the costs necessary for the implementation of the task, i.e. the purchase and installation of elements of the rainwater harvesting set( above-ground, decorative and undergroundtanks). Costs incurred for documentation, covering the renovation of the existing system, purchase and installation of gutters are not included.

Applications and their attachments can be submitted:

  • In person in hard copy at the office of the Municipal Office in Ostrów Wielkopolski: al. Powstańców Wielkopolskich 18, 63-400 Ostrów Wielkopolski),

  • By mail to the address of the Municipal Office in Ostrów Wielkopolski (al. Powstańców Wielkopolskich, 18, 63-400 Ostrów Wielkopolski),
