The Pszczyna Commune council passed a resolution in December to subsidize the construction and installation of rainwater management systems. The aim of the project is to improve the microclimate, as well as maintain groundwater resources. In addition, it is expected to increase residents' awareness of small retention. The subsidy is expected to promote a pro-environmental attitude.

The owner, co-owner and perpetual user of a plot of land can apply for the subsidy. The local subsidies are the local government's response to the Moja Woda (My Water)  program. The call for applications for the nationwide My Water program was stopped in 2022. As a result, grants that are provided locally have gained in importance. Applications for subsidies in the Pszczyna municipality will be able to be submitted until March 31 in the year of the subsidy. The provisions formulated in the resolution are to be in effect until June 30, 2024. The building of rainwater management systems makes it possible to increase water (rain) retention. This has the effect of reducing the negative effects of drought, thus stopping climate change. This also makes it possible to reduce the rain tax. It depends on the retention capacity of the surface on the project site. Concreting the plot of land makes the amount of tax increase. Installation of rainwater management systems effectively reduces the tax rate.

The subsidy covers eligible costs, which include the purchase and installation of rainwater retention system components and equipment on the project site. Beneficiaries can get a subsidy of up to 100% of eligible costs. In practice, this is no more than PLN 2,500. The subsidies are subject to:
