WODNIK PROGRAM IN BOGUCHWAŁA COMMUNE

Wodnik (Aquarius) program in Boguchwała municipality - grant for rainwater collection

Boguchwała commune authorities are supporting a pro-environmental small retention initiative. Water retention means catching rainwater and using it, for example, for watering. We are all observing intensifying climate change and an increase in average temperatures in Poland and around the world. The concreting of cities promotes the formation of urban heat islands. Impermeable surface (concrete, asphalt) causes sewers to be overloaded and periodic flooding happens. In addition, reduced water retention to the ground exacerbates the country's drought problem. One way to combat these negative effects is precisely to reuse rainwater. Rainwater is characterized by a low pH. It is soft water, which is suitable for watering, washing a car, for example, and for laundry.

This year the local government has allocated PLN 70000 for the Aquarius program. The call for applications runs until March 31, 2023, or until the funds are exhausted. The order of applications is decisive, so do not delay. Beneficiaries are individuals who have the right to real estate in the Boguchwała municipality. Residents can be reimbursed up to 80% of eligible costs, or up to PLN 1,000.
