INFILTRATION SYSTEMS FOR A HOUSING ESTATE IN WROCŁAW

Drainage system for a housing estate in Wrocław

Developer Marbud invests in pro-environmental solutions in house projects. This time, too, it has decided to equip its estate with rainwater infiltration systems. Thanks to this solution, the impermeable area on the investment site is reduced. As a result, water retention into the ground increases. This reduces the adverse effect of drought and the associated taxes.

We familiarized with the project and the investor's requirements. After analyzing the input data and hydraulic parameters, we selected an in-ground rainwater infiltration system. It is based on 600 infiltration boxes, forming an underground retention system with a total capacity of 1410 m3. Such a solution works great when the project site is limited. The infiltration box is designed to receive rainwater coming from, for example, the roof or parking surfaces. Rainwater, through a gutter system, flows into the filters, boxes and then seeps into the ground. This is possible thanks to the specific structure of Geodek boxes. The boxes consist of many small canals, which are designed like a honeycomb. Through this arrangement, rainwater flows easily into the ground around it, which protects investments from sudden flooding.
