Subsidy for small retention in Poznań also in 2023 - subsidy for rainwater management
The City of Poznań continues its rainwater subsidy program for city residents. The subsidy is very popular every year. Following the success of previous editions, in 2023 the city will allocate as much as PLN 900,000 for this purpose. The goal of the program is to encourage residents to invest in rainwater management systems. As a result, their environmental awareness increases.
Small retention is a way to offset the negative effects of drought. Increasing rainwater retention significantly relieves the pressure on the sewer system. As a result, flooding occurs less frequently. Urban heat islands, which are stimulated by widespread concretion, reduce the comfort of citizens. Rainwater retention can positively improve the microclimate, thus also improving the quality of life of residents. Rainwater is soft water (low pH), so it is very suitable for washing, watering, or washing a car.
This is what Mayor Jacek Jaskowiak said about the subsidy in Poznan:
"This is a necessary initiative in the face of worsening climate change. We must jointly ensure that water "does not run away." (...) I encourage not only residents, but also, among others, entrepreneurs or housing cooperatives to take advantage of the city's subsidy."
The call for applications runs from March 28 to April 27, 2023. The order of applications is decisive, until funds are exhausted. The local grant in Poznań is a response to the nationwide My Water program, which has already been announced this year, but no details have been given. Local programs, which are also very attractive, are already available. One can count on covering up to 80 % of the cost. Cooperatives and housing communities can apply for a subsidy of up to PLN 50,000, while others can apply for up to PLN 6,000.
