FAQ

What does a system for using rainwater in the garden consist of?

Rainwater management systems in the garden consist of complete rainwater tanks with submersible pump fully automatic, with cleaning filter, comfortable water intake for watering the garden.

How does a system for using rainwater in the garden work?

The starting point is the management of rainwater from roofs. The catchment area can be supplemented by the use of hardened areas such as yards, car parks, driveways etc. The water, flowing off the roof through a system of gutters and downpipes, goes through a rainwater filter into an underground rainwater tank. The stored rainwater is pumped to the point of demand using a pump in the tank. Optionally, if rainwater is not available, the tank is topped up with tap water, securing a pump for manual or automatic watering.

What should I consider when choosing a garden system?

We offer a wide range of rainwater sets for the garden, where the water is used for watering greenery and garden work. The selection of the size of the tank is a key issue in the design of the system. The tank is always selected on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the amount of rainfall, the size and type of catchment area capturing the rain, the efficiency of the filtration equipment. Tanks are designed to be able to store a supply for a certain number of days without rainfall. We use our capacity calculator to determine the capacity of the tank. It estimates the rainwater yield received from the catchment area, comparing the water consumption for irrigation with this estimate. More information can be found in the guide.
0

What tank capacity is enough for a single-family house?

This is dependent on the individual needs of the householders, the number of householders and the rainfall characteristics of the investment site. Please see the guide and capacity calculator for the process of selecting a tank including calculations.
0

Does the pump need to be removed from the tank during winter?

The submersible pump placed in the underground tank of the rainwater collection system in the garden is located under the frost line. Consequently, it is not necessary to remove the pump from the tank during frost and winter.
0

Can garden systems be combined with an automatic irrigation system?

An automatic irrigation system needs a defined hydraulic parameter for the system to work properly. The garden sets include automatic pumps with high hydraulic parameters ideal for automatic garden irrigation. In addition, the system allows the connection of an automatic tap water replenishment system to ensure continuous operation of the system.
0

What if the rainwater tank overflows?

It is obligatory for every tank to have an emergency rainwater overflow, the so-called outflow, which should be directed to a rainwater sewer or an infiltration system in the ground. In most cases, absorption wells or infiltration boxes are used to drain excess rainwater.
0

How do I check the water level in the tank?

Special water level sensors available in our range are used for this purpose. These can also communicate via an app with a smartphone. In addition, the filling of the tank can also be determined in the classic way via an inspection hatch.
0

What if there is no rainfall?

The auto-refill set, which has a float that indicates the level of filling of the tank, is responsible for refilling the tank. When there is a shortage of rainwater, the set fills the tank with tap water to maintain continuous operation. Similarly, when full, the water supply to the tank is cut off to prevent overflow. A valve installed downstream of the filling set prevents rainwater from entering the water supply system.
