The capacity of a septic tank is determined by the number of regular residents, who normatively use around 150 l/day of water. The size of the tank should be determined by the volume of water consumption on the farm and therefore also
depends on the type of use of the property. For example, recreational plots (visited seasonally) will benefit from a tank with a smaller capacity (4-6 m3) than a single-family house (8-12 m3). Selecting the optimum septic tank capacity for the intended use pays off by reducing the frequency of emptying and therefore also reduces costs. The septic tank should also meet a number of requirements as to its location, which you can read more about
here.
