Separators alarm devices
When choosing a separator, in addition to selection the appropriate flow and destination, you should also focus on the automatics supporting its functioning and facilitating the work of its users. Alarm devices are used to warn users against obtaining the maximum level of oil derivatives or fat substances in the separator, information about the level of sludge or to avoid overfilling the tank.
General information
According to the PN EN 858 standard, petroleum separators (light liquid separators) should have alarm devices installed (local regulations define the possibility of using separators without alarm devices). This means that when the maximum amount of separated liquid is reached, the separators must be turned off in order to empty them. The same is true with fat separators.

- sediment and sludge level in the separator.
The level of light liquids is monitored acoustically and visually thanks to built-in LEDs. Special built-in sensors make it possible to recognize the thickness of the liquid in the petroleum separator. Sensors distinguish water from light liquids as well as monitor their decrease.
Detectors, i.e. controllers of measuring probes
The basic controller for handling one probe is - ALARM FOR BASIC SEPARATORS. If you want to have two probes for one separator (measurement of two pieces of information, e.g. overfilling and oil level) or all three probes (measurement of three pieces of information, e.g.: overfilling, oil level, sludge level), select the detector / controller type : For two probes - ALARM FOR TWIN SEPARATORS, for three probes - ALARM FOR TWIN SEPARATORS
Oil / fat level probe
The device sends an alarm signal when the level of light liquids reaches the threshold of 80% of the maximum oil volume, in order to inform in advance about the necessity to empty the separator.
The probe for handling oil and fat measurement is called OILER (oil, fat, petroleum substances level probe).

Overfill level measurement probe
The device sends an alarm signal when the liquid level (light and heavy) in the separator reaches the threshold of 80% of the maximum, in order to inform in advance about the necessity to empty the separator, septic tank, rainwater tank.
The probe for handling the overfill measurement is called MAX.

Sediment and sludge measurement probe
Signaling devices for monitoring the level of sediment (and in some cases also oil): The devices inform about the level of sediment and sludge in the petroleum substances separator, septic tank, sludge in the grease separator. The work of the detector consists in acoustic and visual alarming about the presence of contaminants by means of a probe immersed at the assumed depth.
The probe for sludge measurement is called SLUDO.

A way for unpleasant odors

The role of the odor absorber is played by impregnated activated carbon, improving the comfort of using sewage systems. These filters will be used in petroleum substances separators, absorbing the odor. They are easy-to-use, self-service and durable devices.
Separator accessories
The separators have suction valves as well as automatic lid closing systems, preventing harmful and petroleum derivatives from escaping into the sewage system as a result of maximum filling with oil. The operation scheme is based on the work of a float, placed in a pipe filled with water. When the maximum amount of oil is reached, it goes to the side drains of the separator. The float drops down, closing the drain of the separator.
Summing up, the signaling devices are used to monitor substances in separators (oil and sludge level, overflow sensor). The system is designed to control overfilling, lowering or increasing the liquid level in the separator. Possible causes could be detection of a leak in the separator, blockage of the filter or the outlet by a float.
