The Chrzanów Commune is committed to sustainable development and environmental protection through the introduction of the 'Catch the Rainwater' programme. The aim of the "Catch the Rainwater" programme is to protect water resources by increasing natural retention in the Chrzanów Municipality. The initiative is aimed at supporting residents in retaining rainwater and snowmelt on private properties. The Catch Rainwater Programme has many benefits for both residents and the environment. The programme aims to encourage residents to install rainwater harvesting systems. Rainwater collected in tanks can be used for watering gardens, washing cars or other household purposes, leading to savings in drinking water consumption. In addition, reducing the amount of rainwater in the sewer system relieves the pressure on drainage systems and reduces the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall. In addition, rainwater harvesting significantly reduces the rain tax.

The Chrzanów Municipality provides targeted subsidies for the purchase and installation of new rainwater harvesting systems. The grant can be obtained only once for a given property. The subsidy does not cover costs related to the preparation of documentation or other administrative costs, and funds can only be used for the purchase and installation of tanks. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received by the Municipal Office in Chrzanów, and grant agreements are concluded until the funds planned in the budget for a given financial year are exhausted, but no later than by 31 October.

Persons interested in benefiting from the "Catch the Rainwater" programme must submit an appropriate application to the Chrzanów Municipal Office (20 Henryka Avenue, room no. 1 - Pod Podawczy Journal). The application should include:

The application should also be accompanied by a copy of the real estate register and other required documents, such as a notification of construction works or statements of co-owners of the real estate (in the case of co-ownership).

After the application is positively assessed and funds are secured in the municipal budget, an agreement is signed between the Municipality of Chrzanów and the Applicant. Once the investment has been completed, the Applicant submits an application for payment of the grant, which must include, inter alia, photographic documentation of the implementation of the rainwater harvesting system and invoices for the purchase and installation of the tanks.
