Fat and starch separators

Grease and starch separators are devices designed to capture the particles of these substances before they enter the sanitary sewer system. The separators are fitted with settling tanks to clean wastewater of mineral suspended solids or have filter baskets to capture starch from technological processes (e.g. bakery processes). The selection of such a separator must be preceded by consultation with a designer. The next steps in the selection process and valuable tips are described in our guide: Selection of a fat separator.

During treatment, there are sedimentation and flotation processes. These separate specific substances from the rest of the sewage. This is very important in the further process of wastewater removal, as fats and starch form accumulations. These cause flow blockages in the discharge pipes.
